Designs by: Nakimuli

This line definitely appeals to me...funky, ethnic, chiq and original.  For now, I'm not sure how I feel about the prices. My final analysis will depend on the overall quality and originality of the brand. A review will be posted if and/or when I decide to purchase.  Check out some flicks below.

Owner + designer Tennille McMillan established naKIMuli Inc in 2009. Tennille's first love is modern dance, which may explain her love for jersey fabrics. Growing up in the hoods of Bushwick and East New York, Brooklyn, Tennille always stood out as "the weird one" with her unique style of dress. But she used that to her advantage and began teaching herself how to sew after graduating from high school at age 16. Tennille developed her skills by making clothes for family members and costumes for fellow dance students at Hunter College. After graduating with a BA in dance, Tennille decided to pursue designing clothing instead of dancing professionally. That is when naKIMuli began to take shape. Tennille still designs naKIMuli in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY.

Western Shirts are

SOOOOO cute...maybe I am going through somewhat of a fashion crisis but I'm inclined to say that this just may be my new swag... :)  I can see it now, solid color leggings, an abundance of cleavage, with pumps or booties.  HAWT "Judge Free Zone please" lol

Perfect Spring Time Combination!

Well, the time is coming for my favorite time of the year...SPRING!  Other than the weather I just love the spin that fashion takes in this wonderful season.  Beautiful colors, light cardigans, peep toe pumps and much much more.  Below is my take on the perfect spring time outfit for a night on the town, a dinner date, or stepping out to your favorite designer's fashion show.

Trench Coats for a Fellow Fashionista

So, a fellow fashionista is faced with a situation...she needs a super fly trench coat (fall is basically here) at an affordable price. I took it upon myself to research and find some recommendations under $200.  As you know, most really fly trench coats run you anywhere from 500 to 2k.  So...this is my stab at being reasonably dope for someone that has a keen fashion sense.  See below!  (pics are clickable) Keep in mind that you have to have an open mind to see where each of these pieces can truly take you...

Double Ruffle Trench Coat by Bebe  $149

Tahari Ruffli Trim Satin Trench (Nordstroms $99.90)

Belted Trench (Victoria Secrets:  $148)

Victoria Secrets:  $128

ASOS Slouchy Belted Trench

ASOS Cooper & Stollbrand:  $219.00

Kaftans: NICE

HOT DRESS

You can never go wrong with a sexy cowl pencil dress...it works all seasons of the year and most importantly...its super sexy without lacking class.  The model's shoes are not my preference however... that's a minor technicality. Just waiting for the right time to rock this..

FASHION DESIGNER HIGHLIGHT: RICK OWENS

I'm feeling the cut and modern appeal that this designer has to offer. HOWEVER, I am not feeling the prices.  1k and up... really?
